Wire nest with ‘dried blossom’
So much fun was had making this beautiful nest. Thinking like a bird, wire and foraged twigs were woven and intertwined to make the basic structure. Textile dried blossom adorns the top of the nest, woven in, and trapped within the structure. I like to think a bird used the blossom to decorate its home. Over the following months is dried to a soft browny pink. It was left there, and was very much admired…
The blossom has been made using up-cycled fabric and thread. 'Moss' (string) has been placed in the bottom to make a cosy mattress! Three tiny blue eggs, nestle inside the nest, bringing the piece to life. As with the blossom, the eggs have been made with up-cycled fabric, and sewn by hand with tiny stitches.
The wire word 'nest' (worth £8) will be sent free with this piece.
