Wire nest

So much fun was had making this beautiful nest. Thinking like a bird, wire 'twigs' were woven and intertwined to make the basic structure. Dried grasses and stems with their flowers and seeds still attached were carefully selected, woven in, and trapped within the structure, just as you may find a real nest. The flowers and seeds have been individually made using up-cycled fabric and thread. 'Moss' has been added to make a cosy mattress! Three tiny blue eggs, nestle inside the nest, bringing the piece to life. As with all the flowers and grasses, the eggs have been made with up-cycled fabric, and sewn together by hand with tiny stitches.
