To explain 'Plant a seed today and watch it grow tomorrow' are lyrics from a song I stumbled across once, that wholeheartedly resonates with me.
An idea came to me. With some very simple materials - materials I already had, I felt sure, I could make something that resembled three dimensional flowers. Up until this point, whether free machine drawn or sewn by hand, all my work had been two dimensional. Trial and error followed - failures and triumphs! The 'seed' had been firmly planted.
Ever since that day I've watched my flowers 'grow and grow'. Taking inspiration from nature, from my garden - going back indoors with my head full of everything I have just seen, desperate to recreate it...
Appreciating nature more than ever before, all the previous years of making and life experiences have led me to where I am now. Slowly developing, and growing my flower collection.
